The annual NACA & NCLC conference collaboration is proof that consumers still have plenty of reason to be hopeful!

As a consumer in the current climate, the power imbalance between you and the corporate profit machines that sell, use, and exploit your data may seem stark. This is especially true as attempts to dismantle the regulatory and administrative scaffolding around consumer rights continue.

But the Consumer Rights Ligation Conference & Class Action Symposium, a joint effort by the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) and the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC), demonstrates that the mission to advance and protect consumer rights is stronger than ever.

As the conference lit up D.C. last week, it was a much-needed reminder that consumers still have powerful legal rights…and a whole community of lawyers and advocates dedicated to protecting them!

Consumer Justice Law Firm was honored to sponsor, attend, network, teach, and grow at this critical consumer law event.

The Role of the CRLC 2025

From November 12 – 15, 2025, the Consumer Rights Litigation Conference & Class Action Symposium put on by NACA and NCLC marked an opportunity for the leading voices in consumer law to come together to explore and address the most impactful legal challenges facing consumers today.

Highlighting opportunities for legal thought leadership, education, and strategy, attorneys from public aid to private law firms met to share insights, fortify the resiliance of current consumer rights protections, and strengthen the resistance to any efforts to lessen them.

Why Consumer Justice Law Firm was a Platinum Sponsor

As a law firm that ranks among the top in the nation for the size and scale of our consumer law practice, we consider it an honor to invest in the evolution of the consumer legal landscape and the advancement of consumer rights across the board.

Sponsoring the annual CRLC put on by NACA and NCLC gave Consumer Justice Law Firm the opportunity to get to know our colleagues and peers across the country by shaking hands, sharing ideas, and having conversations.

We believe that having a strong presence and building a vast network is one of the most powerful ways to keep the community of consumer lawyers in the driver’s seat as we collectively take on some of the biggest corporate entitites on the globe.

Why Consumer Legal Education Matters

We believe in educating ourselves, our community, and our current and future consumer clients at every opportunity possible.

On our website and through our social media platforms, the empharsis is on educating you. For instance, through The Consumer Justice Blog, we speak directly to consumers searching for real, genuinely helpful answers to the most impactful and devastating legal challenges consumers face.

But through venues like the NACA & NCLC consumer rights conference, we get to flip the script and take the opportunity to participate in the consumer education process from the other perspective- educating ourselves and our colleagues across several days of intensive workshops, symposiums, roundtables, and more.

As consumer law attorneys, we are deeply committed to staying at the forefront of legal issues as they evolve over time. And as thought leaders in the consumer rights and consumer protection segment, we appreciate that not only do we always have more to learn, but that we also have a deep well of knowledge from which we can teach.

This is why, while in Washington, D.C., our consumer attorneys, including partners, managing associates, and associates, took part in attending sessions and seminars centered on sharing hard-earned legal insights and distilling legal principles and case law down to their most refined and impactful points.

How We Add to the Conversation

When the Consumer Justice Law Firm team wasn’t welcoming greater insight from others, we were leading the sessions ourselves. Our partners Sylvia Bolos and David Chami presented on issues that covered the full practice spectrum from intake to arbitration.

Sylvia Bolos

Sylvia Bolos, Partner at Consumer Justice Law Firm and NACA member, presented a successful session titled “Frontline Defense: Training Intake Staff to Identify Consumer Law Issues.”

The intake process is one which every attorney must hone in order to optimize the number of consumers who are correctly identified as possible clients, ensuring that they’re able to move through to the next steps of building a qualified case.

While intake is a practical step in the screening and case identification process, it requires a nuanced overlay of substantive principles and a clear strategy for making sure everyone who needs legal help is able to get it.

As a highly skilled and experienced attorney who leads our intake team from the highest level, Sylvia’s knowledge on the intricacies of this process are always in high demand and her sessions are well-received by conference attendees. Having the opportunity to help other consumer law attorneys navigate this often challenging process is an experience Sylvia genuinely appreciates.

For consumers like you, a top-performing and meticulous intake process means the ones who need legal representation the most can get access to it the fastest.

David Chami

David Chami, Managing Partner at Consumer Justice Law Firm and NACA Executive Board member, presented at two highly successful sessions- “Tackling Tough Issues in Auto Fraud, Credit Reporting & EFTA” and “I’ll See You in Court/Arbitration.”

Styled as a roundtable discussion, the first session gave attendees access to respected and experienced practitioners to get answers to some of the most challenging and difficult questions in their respective areas of the law. David’s topics included violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA).

In his other session, David was among the speakers who provided insight into the practical mechanisms of the entire trial and arbitration process, from pre-trial steps through to presenting a case in court/arbitration.

As a highly experienced consumer protection lawyer, David’s insights on both the substantive areas of the law and the practical strategies for achieving success were a sought-after segment of the conference. And his devotion to doing the absolute best by his clients was apparent throughout both sessions.
